AWARDS AND CAREER HIGHLIGHTS

 

Gillian Scott was the first Australian botanical artist to win the coveted Gold Medal of the Royal Horticultural Society (U.K.) in open international competition.

Subsequently Gillian was commissioned to paint pictures for the Institute of Botanical Documentation (Carnegie-Mellon University, Pittsburgh) and for Dr Shirley Sherwood’s famous collection of contemporary botanical art.


On a previous visit to London Gillian was invited to become a foundingmember of The Society for Botanical Art, the first of its kind.

She is currently a member of the Botanical Art Society of Australia Inc. and the Botanical Artists’ Society of Queensland Inc.

Botanical Paintings by Gillian have been awarded a number of prizes by Botanical Art societies including The Botanical Art Society of Australia.
